Mastered Direct-To-DSD From Analog Tapes By Kevin Gray At CoHEARent Audio
While not the immediate classic of their debut, The Gilded Palace of Sin, 1970's Burrito Deluxe is still a very strong record, and the last Flying Burrito Bros effort to feature the songwriting and vocal talents of country-rock torchbearer Gram Parsons. At this point Parsons had befriended Keith and Mick and Burrito Deluxe features the very first recorded version of their classic "Wild Horses" which would not make its way onto the Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers LP for another year. Along with great Parsons originals like "Cody, Cody," "Older Guys" and "Lazy Days," the 11-track set also includes stellar versions of Dylan's "If You Gotta Go" and the traditional "Farther Along."
Intervention Records' Hybrid SACD reissue of Burrito Deluxe was mastered Direct-to-DSD from analog tape by Kevin Gray at CoHEARent Audio from the best source available - a phenomenal sounding 1/2" safety copy of the original stereo master tape. Intervention's dual layered CD/SACD edition preserves all the top-end energy and "snap" of the original A&M LP, while the bass foundation is fully restored to make this offering the definitive listening experience for this classic! The original LP art was also restored here by IR's Tom Vadakan and comes framed in a super jewel box.
