The Rolling Stones Dirty Work on Limited Edition Japanese Import SHM-SACD
Dirty Work was the Stones' first album under the band’s new contract with CBS Records and another with an outside producer on the credits, this time Steve Lillywhite. It is also the first time since the band’s earliest days that the album’s lead single was not a Jagger/Richards composition. It was a cover of Bob & Earl’s R&B classic “Harlem Shuffle” that was originally from 1963.
Recorded in 1986 when tensions between Mick and Keith were at an all-time high, Dirty Work was designed as a return to the band's rock & roll roots. The Stones decided to lighten up the proceedings with a series of guest appearances that includes Bobby Womack, Tom Waits and Jimmy Page. Fighting through adversity is what the Stones have done better than any band in history, however, and Dirty Work is proof of that.
"There was this incipient power struggle going on between Mick and I at the time, but when the Stones are on the job all of that goes out the window. Considering what volatile personalities Mick and I are, this band has got along well for the past 30 years." - Keith Richards
SHM-SACD (Super High Material SACD) is the ultimate Super Audio CD that utilizes the materials and technologies that were developed for the SHM-CD to further enhance the audio-resolution. These discs are made with polycarbonate developed for the screen of the liquid crystal display. As it has a higher transparency, players can read the signal more faithfully. Also, it excels in fluidity, which enables you to cast a more accurate pit. What works wonders for a low resolution format such as CD should offer even greater sonic improvements in a real high resolution format such as SACD.
• 2-channel Single Layer SACD
• Two-channel SACD layer only, to secure enough reflectance and not to compress DSD file
