Home-Theater and Surround-Sound Performance Made Easy and Affordable: Designed by Andrew Jones, the ELAC Uni-Fi UC5 Center-Channel Loudspeaker Serves as a Seamless Center-Stage
Make your surround-sound and home-theater setup sing with the ELAC Uni-Fi UC5 center-channel loudspeaker. Designed by Andrew Jones and tailored to seamlessly pair with the Uni-Fi UF5 tower and UB5 bookshelf speakers, Uni-Fi UC5 features the same advanced driver and crossover components as its bigger siblings. You'll experience vocals, effects, and dialog with incredible clarity and take-you-there timing. The key to Uni-Fi UC5's best-in-class performance resides with the in-house-developed concentric driver, which enhances precision, coherency, and responsiveness. With the one-inch soft-dome tweeter and four-inch midrange in a single voice coil, Uni-Fi UC5 excels in the areas of power handling and directivity. A pair of 5.25-inch woofers provide the low-end slam, and its crossover touts audiophile-grade components for seamless transitions between frequency ranges. The cabinet, too, is built to last and internally braced, while five-way binding posts ensure tight connections to speaker cables. Backed by our Money-Back Guarantee, Uni-Fi UC5 makes having a great surround system in your house simple and affordable.
Usually Only Found in Costlier Designs: Custom-Made Concentric Driver
Just like they do in the sister Uni-Fi tower and bookshelf speakers, the delicacy of a one-inch soft-dome tweeter and harmonic accuracy of a rigid four-inch aluminum midrange cone come together in a sonic symphony in Uni-Fi UC5. Positioning the tweeter concentrically within the midrange voice coil achieves a uniform directivity pattern, for flat frequency response and formidable power handling, along with enhanced imaging for both on- and off-axis listening positions.
Three-Way Design and Two 5.25-Inch Woofers for Excellent Soundstaging
ELAC realizes a three-way speaker offers many advantages. In assigning dedicated drivers to high, mid- and bass frequencies, each is optimized for the frequency range for which its design and material composition is best suited. A three-way speaker complement also allows for a more straightforward crossover and cabinet design, eliminating costly solutions. By using aluminum for the woofer, resonances that affect the linearity of common paper cones are placed beyond the driver's operating frequency range. An extended-size magnet with vented pole piece increases power handling for accurate, clean, and powerful reproduction of bass frequencies.
Elegant Cabinets and Five-Way Binding Posts
The Uni-Fi UC5 enclosure is engineered with thick MDF outer walls and a luxurious, textured vinyl finish. The cabinets and the channel incorporate specially designed internal bracing to add stiffness and strength to the cabinet's outer walls. This bracing greatly reduces cabinet vibration, which causes unwanted coloration to the sound. Custom-designed binding posts provide flexibility for speaker wire connections and ensure optimal electron transfer from speaker cables to the speaker.
