Hear Music With Expressiveness, Naturalness, Balance, Richness, Punch, and Top-to-Bottom Smoothness: Acclaimed Focal Aria 926 Tower Loudspeakers Play With High-End Coherency

If only every model-year update possessed the enhancements, expressiveness, and meticulously developed refinements of the Focal Aria 926 tower loudspeaker. New cone material – a high-grade sandwich of glass fiber and flax – comprises its F cones, which play with naturalness, low coloration, and addictive richness. Flax also accounts for high internal damping, great speed, and flexural rigidity. Upgraded TNF aluminum/magnesium inverted-dome tweeters boast phase-optimized crossovers and Poron suspension – design elements that improves linearity and dispersion. Aria 926's bass and midrange drivers also get in on the action, via specially injected Zamak baskets and Klippel motor systems that lend realistic punch, definition, and dynamics. The cabinets even get the deluxe treatment, with a classy appearance topped off with real walnut veneered side panels, glass top, and an expertly braced internal structure. Via Aria 926, you'll savor expansive, balanced, and cohesive sound distinguished by even-handed tonalities and top-to-bottom smoothness. Able to be played at very high volumes without any interfering distortion, Aria 926 throws deep soundstages and reproduces spacial cues at a level that rival speakers in much higher price classes. All of which means that Aria 926 constitutes a deal you shouldn't refuse. 100% Music Direct Guaranteed.

"Overall then, these floorstanders are an unqualified success... With power, passion yet sophistication and breeding, there's a lot to like here."

Flax-Fiber F Cones Benefit from Rigidity, Lightness, and Internal Damping
F cones are made of high-quality flax fibers core enclosed by two thin layers of glass fiber. They satisfy the key criteria of a high performance diaphragm: high internal damping, high velocity of sound, and high flexural rigidity. The expertise gained from the sandwich technology of the Utopia and K2 Power ranges enabled Focal to develop a revolutionary flax-fiber cone conciliating the criteria. Flax is twice as light as fiberglass, because the fiber is hollow. It also has very low elasticity which makes it ideal to increase the flexural rigidity of a sandwich structure. Moreover, it can be obtained in non-woven bundles of considerable diameter and can therefore produce the thickness required for a sandwich. Composite materials have properties suitable for applications where both rigidity and low mass are required. However, their disadvantage is that they lack damping, which leads to very poor control of vibrations. Flax fiber has an excellent internal damping of the same order of magnitude as the glass or Kevlar fibers or aluminum.

"These are speakers that will take whatever you throw at them and present a big, detailed, and utterly engrossing soundstage."

Completely Revised With Poron Suspension: Focal TNF Inverted-Dome Tweeter
Focal brand's signature product, the inverted dome tweeter, has been continually developed ever since it was created. It bears repeating that its main advantage, apart from its very low directivity, lies in its use of a coil of small diameter (hence very light and better accelerating) directly fixed to the rigid dome. The TNF tweeter features two major evolutions to the aluminum/magnesium tweeter. The suspension between the dome and its bracket uses Poron, a material with shape memory. This suspension method is directly derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter, making it possible to reduce distortion by a factor of three in the 2-3kHz range, where the human ear has great sensitivity. The use of Poron has reduced the distortion by half in the tweeters. The inverted dome's spatial characteristics and very low directivity already make it greatly superior to conventional domes, and to further improve this, a wave guide has been developed. In a horizontal plane, its frequency response has a variance of +/- 0.5dB. This performance guarantees an incredibly stable soundstage that makes the listening position much less critical.

"An excellent loudspeaker with punch, detail, and a wide soundstage."
