M2Tech HiFace 2: Computer Audio's Missing Link - Upgraded and Improved
Have a DAC with a USB input that only converts files up to 16bit/44.1k? Now with the M2Tech HiFace 2, an incredibly simple device, you can connect to the higher-resolution
S/PDIF (Coaxial RCA) input on your DAC, getting up to 24bit/192k performance. Two
high-precision oscillators remove jitter and permit the clocking to be done by the
DAC itself. While the original HiFace offered Direct Sound, Kernel Streaming and WASAPI
transfer modes, HiFace 2 adds ASIO mode to enable interfacing to professional audio
players and software tools. HiFace 2's improved output
circuit is compliant with S/PDIF levels, linear regulators in place of
switches, and clickless operation - even when skipping tracks! Compact and simple to use, the HiFace 2 is a no-brainer for upgrading to
high-resolution digital file playback. Our highest recommendation!
Most audio interfaces and USB-enabled DACs refer the data stream clock
to the same USB interface clock, often resulting in very heavy jitter. Thanks to two quartz
precision oscillators used on M2Tech HiFace 2, the clock source for the output
data stream features a very low jitter. A more stable clock is recovered
by your DAC's S/PDIF receiver for very limited sound
image distortion and degradation. Phase noise is also very low: this guarantees clock
stability, also reinforced by a board supply voltage regulation.
M2Tech HiFace 2 features a very compact size and can be directly connected to a
High Speed USB 2.0 port of any computer. A very high performance RCA gold connector provides an output signal,
ready to be connected to any high-end digital system. No external power supply is
required, as HiFace 2 draws its power from the USB bus itself.
