The Direct-Drive Deejay Turntable Taking Audiophiles by Storm: Pioneer PLX-1000 Boasts High-Torque Motor and Rock-Solid Stability, Plays With Expressive, Exciting, Detailed, and Clear Sound
A traditional deejay turntable any audiophile can love, the direct-drive Pioneer PLX-1000 places a premium on analog performance. Boasting considerable mass (it weighs nearly 30 pounds), a high-torque motor, an LED for in-the-dark track cueing, and tempo fader control, it plays music with shocking clarity, tonal accuracy, and ravishing detail. Seriously, you will be in awe of the expressiveness and excitement PLX-1000 brings to every LP you place on its platter. More than worthy of its famed heritage – PLX-1000 is the descendant of the legendary Technics SL-1200MK2 – this upgraded design's heavy-duty motor boasts twice the torque (and control) of its predecessor. A worthy alternative to any sub-$1k belt-driven design that Stereophile calls a "contender for the best audiophile-grade turntable for less than $2,000," PLX-1000 is 100% Music Direct Guaranteed.
"Pioneer's new PLX-1000 is not only a worthy successor to the legendary Technics SL-1200MK2, it is a serious contender for the best audiophile-grade turntable for less than $2000. Unabashedly recommended."

Rock-Solid Build Quality for Optimal Performance
To create an extremely stable player and prevent vibration, Pioneer utilizes a heavy-mass zinc die-cast chassis for the top section that's reinforced with a bottom section made of 8mm-thick resin. The base is further enforced with 9mm-thick vibration-damping material that results in extremely stable playback. The tonearm received great attention in build quality and design to maximize performance. PLX-1000's RCA jacks feature gold-plated machine-cut parts for low impedance for excellent sound quality.
Exceptional Stability and Control from a High-Torque Direct Drive System
The direct-drive mechanism of PLX-1000 provides tremendous torque, resulting in stable rotation and exceptional control. The turntable can achieve a starting torque of at least 4.5kg/cm and can reach its fixed rotation speed within 0.3 seconds (at 33.3RPM).
User-Friendly Layout and Controls Include Lighted Speed Guide
PLX-1000 provides a user-friendly layout to serious listeners and DJs alike. Music lovers will find quick tempo control capability on the right side and a start/stop button on the left side, as well as a high-torque platter with a lighted speed guide so you can cue up LPs in the dark without problem. PLX-1000 also provides a range of tempo adjustments from ±8% and ±16% to ±50%, giving users a range of pitch speeds. A "reset" button for tempo sits next to the tempo slider for instant ±0% fixed rotation speed.
