JMW-10.5i Tonearm, Silent Inverted Bearing, "On the Fly" Adjustable VTA Base Result in Premiere Analog Performance: VPI Classic 2SE Turntable Features Extra-Thick Plinth for Ultra-Quiet Operation
The mesmerizing sound of the VPI Classic 2SE turntable is proof that thickness matters when it comes to analog performance. Distinguished with an extra-thick plinth largely responsible for its dead-quiet performance, VPI Classic 2SE also comes standard with the new stainless-steel version of the JMW-10.5i unipivot tonearm in rigid mount mode and a pre-installed VTA Base that offers users the ultimate in flexibility and fine-tuning. JMW-10.5i uses VPI's pure copper wire, a solid plinth with a real wood finish, a solid fixed mounted AC synchronous motor, silent inverted bearing, and VPI's Mini HR-X isolation feet. Classic 2SE sounds fast, clean, wide open, with deep powerful bass, and unparalleled speed stability. Backed by our Money-Back Satisfaction Guarantee, Classic 2SE gives any turntable made regardless of price a serious run for the money.
"The Classic, in my opinion, exceeds the performance of [VPI's] ScoutMaster series and breaks new sonic ground... at a breathtakingly low price. I think this is Weisfeld's best sounding design. If ever there were a best buy in "tables, this is it!"

Classic 2SE Includes Pre-Installed VTA Base
Classic 2SE comes with a VTA base which allows on-the-fly adjustments of VTA. Even very slight changes in VTA can have a broad effect on the sound of your analog system and properly dialing in VTA allows more of the best qualities of your cartridge to shine. Classic 2SE's adjustable VTA Base allows fine adjustments of Vertical Tracking Angle while the record is playing. This "on the fly" adjustment makes quick work of those important tiny changes that optimize the presentation of your analog rig. For listeners with multiple armwands, the VTA Base allows quick swaps – even with varied height cartridges, and easily repeatable results.
"VPI's best work is now a relatively simple and easy-to-set-up player that combines an excellent chassis, built-ion motor, and tonearm. Outperforming many units at stratosphere prices, it puts a premium in reliability, rather than pushing the engineering envelope to gimmicks that do not survive engagement with reality."
– Anthony Cordesman, The Absolute Sound
Differences Between Classic 2SE, Classic 2 (discontinued), and Classic 1SE
Classic 2SE is built with a much-thicker plinth than that of the retired Classic 2, a design advantage that leads to exceptionally quiet operation and stability. Classic 2SE also has a pre-installed VTA base, a feature – along with the extra-thick plinth – missing from Classic 1SE.
