Fast rising indie rock act American Authors - Zac Barnett (vocals), James Adam Shelley (guitar/banjo), Dave Rublin (bass), and Matt Sanchez (drums) - return in the summer of 2016 with What We Live For, their sophomore album on Dirty Canvas/Island Records, featuring the acclaimed singles "Go Big Or Go Home" and "Pride."
Barnett on the album to the Columbian Chronicle: "We tried to take a lot of the stuff that our fans like and love about us from Oh, What a Life and take that to the next level as far as sounds go. [We] brought back some of the old instruments like mandolin and banjo but also experimented with a lot of different sounds like vocal samples. We brought back a lot of piano [and] bigger harmonies. Lyrically, the first album was much more about where we'd come from and the journey to where we're at now. This one is really more focused on what we live for right now, all the obstacles and struggles we have in the future and what we're doing today."
What We Live For is the long-awaited follow-up to Oh, What A Life, American Authors' RIAA certified Gold debut album of 2014, which rose to #3 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart and produced the #1 Hot AC/Top 5 Pop hit "Best Day Of My Life" and Top 15 Hot AC cut "Believer." American Authors' career-defining RIAA triple-platinum #1 hit "Best Day Of My Life" also continues to resonate across the Top 40 nearly three years after its release.
