The 12-inches from Swedish hardcore punk band Anti-Cimex get a proper and legitimate reissue at long last! Prepared with the band's approval and mastered for vinyl by the world's biggest Anti Cimex fan, Jack Control at Enormous Door, these LP reissues come in gatefold jackets with all of the original cover art intact and with new liner notes by drummer Charlie Claeson, rare photos and complete lyrics.
Here we have a reissue of the band's 1990 full-length debut Absolut Country Of Sweden, which was released between their eponymous 1986 EP (aka Criminal Tap) and their final 1993 album Scandinavian Jawbreaker, and finds the band at a critical stage of their evolution starting to incorporate rock riffs into their d-beat blueprint.
Anti Cimex "always regarded themselves as raw punk, even when they found the laurels of Scandinavian hardcore heroes thrust upon them...[They] made an indelible mark on the language and legacy of punk's nastier permutations (and, in a way, on extreme metal's as well – the band veered down a more metallic path in its later material)" (Noisey). Members went on to perform in bands like Driller Killer and Wolfpack/Wolfbrigade.
