Bark Bark Disco hails from the tiny island of Malta. The band was propelled into existence when Bonnie 'Prince' Billy needed an opening act for a concert in a masonic cemetery. Ian Schranz, singer/songwriter of the band, released the single "Song for the Lovers" which received half a million views on YouTube in under two weeks, generating enough traction for the band to perform in Japan, France, Germany and the UK. Bark Bark Disco are part of the SoLo-Fi music movement, using vintage drum machines and 4-track cassette recorders, to create a sound reminiscent of Trio and Grandmaster Flash. Holy Smokes is the project's vibrant debut album which additionally includes the whimsical fellow single "Honey I Love You."
