Bettye's LaVette's Classic 1972 Muscle Shoals Sessions Sourced from the Original Masters & Available on Vinyl for the First Time!
Bettye LaVette's The 1972 Muscle Shoals Sessions becomes Run Out Groove's fifteenth title. Lavette may not be a household name like Aretha or Otis, but her talent as a soul singer is on par and shouldn't be overlooked as these early-70s sessions at Muscle Shoals Sound - backed by the famous house band of Barry Beckett, Jimmy Johnson, David Hood and Roger Hawkins - certainly attest. These passionate performances were never released at the time of recording and this brand new collection includes all of her Muscle Shoals recordings plus a pair of bonus tracks recorded the same year in Detroit, all making their vinyl debut after 46 years.
Sourced from the original masters with lacquers cut at Sam Phillips Recording Studio, The 1972 Muscle Shoals Sessions comes pressed on 180g black vinyl courtesy of Record Industry in the Netherlands and is packaged in a deluxe single pocket tip-on Stoughton sleeve with new artwork, insert and liner notes by Billy Vera. To top it off, ROG is also giving fans the opportunity to vote on three different cover art options for the album.
