20th Anniversary Reissue of Career Resurgent Masterpiece featuring Bonus 7"
1997 career comeback album Time Out Of Mind marked Bob Dylan's first collection of original songs since 1990's Under the Red Sky. Enlisting the talents of producer Daniel Lanois (U2, Peter Gabriel, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson) who he first worked with on the 1989 effort Oh Mercy, Time Out Of Mind shares that album's atmospheric and ominous sound which Lanois creates with innovatively placed microphones and strategic mixing.
With the steady grooves of contemporaries like Jim Dickinson (piano), Augie Myers (organ), Jim Keltner (drums) and Duke Robillard (guitar) behind him, Dylan takes a world-weary and forlorn stock of the past that's inspired by both his mortality and mythology, and then elevates these ruminations with passionate lived in performances. The critically acclaimed album won three 1998 Grammy Awards including Album of the Year, Best Contemporary Folk Album and Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for "Cold Irons Bound."
"How meaningful must an album be to resurrect and redefine a career as big as Bob Dylan's? How well-crafted must it be to best Paul McCartney, Babyface and Radiohead for the Album Of The Year Grammy, spawn hits for Garth Brooks and Adele in the decade to come, and set the sonic bar for modern classics? Time Out Of Mind accomplished all of this." - Nate Hertweck, Grammys
Includes a bonus 7" of "Love Sick (Remix)" and "Cold Irons Bound (Live)" which are appearing on vinyl for the first time.
