Thoughts From A Stone is the newest opus from multi-national technical death metal act Coma Cluster Void. The group is comprised of Mike DiSalvo (Cryptopsy), Austin Taylor and Genevieve DiSalvo trading off on lead guttural vocals, Sylvia Hinz providing classical mezzosoprano vocals, bass guitar and double bass recorder, John Strieder on 10-string guitar and cello, Chris Burrows on drums and guest Alexa Renger on violin. Thoughts From A Stone encapsulates the most forward thinking progression in technical death metal. The band describes the album as representing a whole world within the spanning 21:40 minutes: "A journey into the darkest recesses of the human mind," explains Strieder. Evolving from primeval mists, to pompous riffage, to mathy chaos, to a dark ballad, into the highest highs to the lowest lows, and finally reaching back to the intro "I Am" of their 2016 debut Mind Cemeteries. Featuring avant-garde and experimental trio Xelmya, Coma Cluster Void are poised to turn heads and shock the metalsphere with their saturated and expansive sonic palette.
