One of the most enduring musical partnerships of all time, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Crosby, Stills & Nash are revered for their peerless vocal harmonies, inspired songwriting and musical virtuosity. When the trio first sang together at a friend's Laurel Canyon house in 1968, their uncanny harmonic convergence was immediately apparent, and CSN took shape. Each member came to the new venture from other high-profile bands - Crosby from the Byrds, Stills from Buffalo Springfield, and Nash from the Hollies - and together, they formed that rarest of musical entities, a "supergroup" that lived up to its billing.
CSN (1977) served as the group's second full-length as a trio and the long-awaited follow-up to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's Déjà Vu (1970). Boasting an album cover for the ages and yielding the hit singles "Just A Song Before I Go" and "Fair Game," plus fellow standouts "Shadow Captain," "See The Changes," and "Cathedral," the quadruple platinum folk-rock masterclass topped out at No. 2 on the charts behind Fleetwood Mac's Rumours and finds the members more matured both as men and musically yet certainly disillusioned with the current state of the world and reflective of their place in it.
