Stoke, UK-based punk band Discharge turned the world of underground music on its head with their primal bursts of uncompromising speed and aggression. Formed in the late-70s by twin brothers Bones and Tezz Roberts, and Rainy Wainwright, Discharge has proceeded to change the face of punk and indeed extreme music itself. The band's music is characterized by a heavy, distorted, and grinding guitar-driven sound and rawly shouted vocals, with lyrics on anarchist and pacifist themes. 1993's Shootin' Up the World saw the band leaving their glam metal '80s sound in the dust and going full on rough around the edges metal with the economy and spirit they built their name on.
