The celebration of Erasure's (Andy Bell and Vince Clarke) 30th anniversary continues in 2016 with 180-gram vinyl editions of their classic albums Wild! (1989), Chorus (1991) and I Say I Say I Say (1994).
Chorus is Erasure's fifth studio album, released by Mute Records in 1991 and shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize in 1992. Not surprising when you consider how inventive it was, delivering four hit singles, including the impossibly catchy title cut and the flamboyant live showstopper "Love To Hate You." Chorus proved once and for all that Erasure wasn't just a novel ‘80s act – they threw themselves into the next decade with a record so accomplished and current that it became their third UK No. 1 album in a row, achieving platinum status along the way.
Erasure is one of the UK's most enduring award-winning songwriting duos. The BRIT and Ivor Novello winning pair have released a staggering number of albums, including 5 UK No. 1's and 17 top 10 singles (35 singles charted in the UK Top 40). Caitlin Moran of The Times exclaimed, "Let's face it – there is nothing Kraftwerk did that Erasure didn't do better, for longer, and while wearing a blue sequinned cowboy hat and chaps."
