The celebration of Erasure's (Andy Bell and Vince Clarke) 30th anniversary continues in 2016 with 180-gram vinyl editions of their classic albums Wild! (1989), Chorus (1991) and I Say I Say I Say (1994).
I Say I Say I Say is Erasure's sixth studio album, produced by Martyn Ware, founder member of The Human League and Heaven 17. It served as the group's fourth consecutive No. 1 album in the UK, achieving Gold status and generating three top 20 singles, including the epic love song "Always." By 1994 Erasure showed no sign of slowing down, much to the delight of their fans and the record-buying public at large. No mean feat in a musical landscape that had changed significantly in order to embrace grunge and all its attendant, casual glory. Erasure proved with this record that they still did pop better than anyone.
Erasure is one of the UK's most enduring award-winning songwriting duos. The BRIT and Ivor Novello winning pair have released a staggering number of albums, including 5 UK No. 1's and 17 top 10 singles (35 singles charted in the UK Top 40). Caitlin Moran of The Times exclaimed, "Let's face it – there is nothing Kraftwerk did that Erasure didn't do better, for longer, and while wearing a blue sequinned cowboy hat and chaps."
