Over two years in the making legendary rock band Foghat's new record Under The Influence marks their first studio release since 2010's Last Train Home. Featuring founding drummer Roger Earl, singer/guitarist Charlie Huhn, lead guitarist Bryan Bassett and bassist Craig MacGregor, the album was helmed by Grammy winning writer/producer Tom Hambridge (Buddy Guy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, George Thorogood).
The twelve-track thrill ride finds the band in fine form and is comprised of some new songs including a new version of their biggest hit "Slow Ride," a couple of Savoy Brown songs, and a couple of covers. Special guests like Kim Simmonds, Nick Jameson, Scott Holt, Dana Fuchs and Rodney O'Quinn also appear.
"I met Tom when presenting three awards to Buddy Guy and Tom (his producer) at the Memphis Blues Awards," Earl says. "Tom said that he was a fan, and would love to produce a Foghat record. Putting that in the back of my mind, this was the perfect opportunity. Tom came down to Boogie Motel South to meet the band and we clicked and started writing together immediately. Working with him was inspirational!"
