Gilbert O'Sullivan is a superstar who topped both the UK and US charts in the ‘70s with a string of hit singles and is still a well-loved and respected figurehead of the song writing community. With three Ivor Novello Awards including Songwriter Of The Year in 1973, 16 worldwide Top 40 albums and 6 number one singles, the depth and quality of his continuing legacy is well known. In the US, Gilbert O'Sullivan scored 5 Top 30 hits, including the 1972 #1 classic, "Alone Again (Naturally)". Himself – a rich tapestry of devastatingly poignant song writing – was first released in 1971 and reached #9 on the US Album Charts.
As part of the Gilbert O'Sullivan 50 year anniversary celebrations this seminal album is re-issued on vinyl for the first time with meticulous attention to detail, recreating the original album art. To celebrate the re-issue Gilbert himself has hand written two letters thanking the lucky owner for purchasing his album and drawing on the lyrics from the "Outro" song on the album (fans will understand the theme here with Gilbert singing/thanking the fan via this album track for buying the record), these have been randomly inserted. In addition, a further 25 copies of the gatefold vinyl have been signed and randomly inserted in to the production run.
