Following the hugely successful re-releases of Whipped Cream & Other Delights and Christmas Album at the end of 2015, legendary musician Herb Alpert will re-release four further titles on 180g vinyl in September 2016. Bernie Grundman, who was the original mastering engineer on many of the original Tijuana Brass and Alpert albums, mastered and hand cut all four of the new vinyl re-releases using a specially designed lathe. All releases, several of which have been out of print for a number of years (in Europe, some have not been available in over 30 years), will be presented with their original artwork, making these titles a must-have for any Herb Alpert fan!
The sound of Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass proved as ubiquitous – and profitable – as that of the best known music makers of the era, on a par with the Beatles, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Hit singles and albums seemed to pour out effortlessly on the A&M label, as Alpert continued to craft the Tijuana Brass sound. 1964's South Of The Border served as the group's third album overall and first Top 10 hit thanks to fresh and evocative readings of "The Girl from Ipanema," "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face," "Hello Dolly!," "All My Loving" and the title cut among others.
