2014's Vigorous And Liberating Death celebrates Finnish extreme metal veterans Impaled Nazarene's 24th year of musical madness and continues their brutal legacy in style. The band's twelfth full-length overall, it features 13 new blackened death metal assaults recorded at City Lights and S/Mental studio, mixed at studio Fungus by Max Kostermaa (who also did the band's previous album Road To The Octagon) and mastered at famous Finnvox Studio by Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Children Of Bodom). Mika Luttinen explained that the album's title and lyrical themes handle death from various viewpoints: the death of Finland and the European Union's economies and the death of freedom of speech among them. Cover artwork was done by Impaled Nazarene's former bass player Taneli Jarva. Limited gatefold edition from the venerable Osmose Productions.
