British progressive-rock band Jody Grind (named after a Horace Silver song) formed in 1966 and soon signed to Nat Joseph's Transatlantic Records where they recorded two albums and toured Europe nonstop for four years before disbanding in 1970. Jody Grind's second and final record Far Canal was originally issued earlier the same year and is a much sought after proto-prog slab. The group's sound here, while still based in early British progressive-rock, is much more influenced by classical music in the vein of Yes than the jazz leanings of their 1969 debut One Step On. A true "lost" gem from the heady days of British progressive/underground rock!
