As indie music enjoyed its resurgence in the mid 2000s, UK south coast three-piece Keane offered a thoughtful counterpoint to guitar squall. Their runaway 9x platinum 2004 debut, Hopes And Fears, featured well-written songs, anchored by delicate piano-based melodies. For its 2006 follow-up Under the Iron Sea Keane enlisted producer Andy Green and fashioned a far darker affair with similar results, debuting at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200, topping the UK charts and spinning off the band's most successful single to date with the Grammy-nominated "Is It Any Wonder?" 180g vinyl reissue.
