A charming story of independence, purpose and fatherly love, Hearts Beat Loud is a new musical drama directed by Brett Haley (The Hero, I'll See You In My Dreams). Set in Red Hook, Brooklyn, the film follows a father (Nick Offerman) and daughter (Kiersey Clemons) who become an unexpected songwriting duo during the summer she is preparing to leave for college. A film so centered on music needs incredible compositions of its own. Fortunately, those duties on Hearts Beat Loud are taken up by previous Haley collaborator Keegan DeWitt (I'll See You In My Dreams, Queen of Earth). DeWitt not only crafted the score components to the film but also wrote all the original songs performed in-film by the father-daughter band We're Not A Band. His folksy singer-songwriter tunes function as a heartwarming emotional core to the film, and are played repeatedly on screen by Offerman and Clemons throughout. Milan Records is pleased to offer a 5-track 12" vinyl EP release of DeWitt's original songs featured in the film.
