Circa 1988 an obsessed Swedish collector living in New York kicked off the amoeba-like bootleg punk-rock compilation series Killed By Death. The first four volumes, originally issued in 1989 on the Swedish label Redrum Records, highlighted some of the best and now highly sought after punk records of all-time while volumes 5 and 6 were released in 1993 and were compiled by an Australian record collector. From there the ensuing installments were produced by various anonymous compilers and released independently of one another. 1995's highly regarded Killed By Death No. 9 was the second of four volumes to carry the "All American Punk, No Foreign Junk" tagline and includes nothing but winners from the likes of the Jetsons, Panics and Gizmos.
