On the surface, Giallo Oscuro is a pop-oriented project about 60's Italian love songs, the missing link between romance, lightness, recklessness and fear, terror, murder and psychosexual dementia. These strange connections are created in dream-like fashion and are able to reach out of the darkness in a compendium of tension and grace. This is part of the "magic" modus operandi of this project. It's an homage to the music of those "maestri" who forever changed pop music and the movie soundtrack genre like Bruno Nicolai, Egisto Macchi, Alessandro Alessandroni, Gruppo di improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, and Ennio Morricone. The sounds that emerged from this golden-age are the combination of splendor, grace, lascivious, eroticism, joy and sadness. And even more than an homage or a rereading of this beautiful music, Giallo Oscuro 1 and 2 is mostly about love, loss, distance, time, heartbreak, falling, and decadence.
