Pink Colored Vinyl Reissue To Benefit Fourth Annual Ten Bands One Cause
Ten Bands re-issue their albums on pink vinyl, all for one cause. This is the 4th year for the initiative that has raised funds for Gilda's Club NYC, an organization that provides community support for both those diagnosed with cancer and their caretakers. It is named after comedian Gilda Radner, who passed away from cancer at the age of 43 in 1989. 2017's pink vinyl releases come from Metallica, Mastodon, Portugal. The Man, Gary Clark Jr., Lord Huron, Dustin Kensrue, Lucinda Williams, Four Year Strong, Blue October and GWAR.
Metallica's platinum 2016 album Hardwired...To Self-Destruct served as the metal titans' first studio effort since 2008's Death Magnetic and sixth consecutive album to debut at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200. Produced by Greg Fidelman, who also engineered and mixed Death Magnetic, the double album features 12 new tracks and nearly 80 minutes of music including throwback thrash singles "Hardwired," "Moth Into Flame" and "Atlas, Rise!"
Praise for Hardwired...To Self-Destruct came from far and wide including Rolling Stone ("Metallica's 'Hardwired' shreds back to vintage eighties terror"); Decibel ("Metallica balances legacy, longevity, and longitude"); and Kerrang! ("This is Metallica galvanized, refreshed, refocused and rediscovering themselves. Best thing they've done since The Black album...").
