Nashville Pussy is a band who hail from Atlanta, GA deep in the heart of "the BBQ Nation" and sound like AC/DC slap boxing with Lynyrd Skynyrd while Motorhead watches. They were formed by the husband and wife duo of Blaine Cartwright and Ruyter Suys and were born out of the ashes of Blaine's former band Nine Pound Hammer back in 1997. In fact Blaine met Ruyter and original bassist Corey Parks at Nine Pound Hammer gigs. Since then they have played over 1,000 gigs in 40 different countries, gathered a Grammy nomination, and have toured with Motorhead, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slayer and a host of other heroes who've became instant fans.
The group's long-awaited fifth full-length From Hell to Texas (2009) came four long years after 2005's Get Some! and was recorded/mixed at Pedernales Studio in Spicewood, TX with producer Daniel Rey and engineered/mixed by Gordie Johnson and Jacob Sciba. Boasting the band's strongest songwriting to date, the album incorporates everything you'd want from an American bar band: anthems about sex, whisky, drugs and fighting; kick ass guitar riffs; and provocative song titles like "Lazy Jesus," "I'm So High" and "Dead Men Can't Get Drunk." Sounding like a dirtier version of Aerosmith, which is really saying something, From Hell To Texas is a great album if you like the Jack Daniels side of rock!
