Since the 1970s Saxon has consistently showcased an ability to take rock ‘n' roll and give it an electrifying edge, cementing their status as pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal along the way. Saxon's fourth album, Denim and Leather (dedicated to their fans and their usual style of dress) was recorded at Aquarius Studios in Geneva and originally released in October of 1981. One of the band's most successful records to date, it was produced by Nigel Thomas and spawned the killer singles "Princess Of The Night" and "Never Surrender" plus "And The Band's Played On," which was inspired by their appearance at the inaugural Monsters Of Rock festival in 1980. Released as part of the second round of classic Saxon reissues, this 2009 remastered version is pressed on colored vinyl.
