Since the 1970s Saxon has consistently showcased an ability to take rock ‘n' roll and give it an electrifying edge, cementing their status as pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal along the way. Saxon's fifth album Power & The Glory was recorded at Atlanta, GA's Axis Sound and directly followed-up the release of the band's first live album The Eagle Has Landed. Produced by Jeff Glixman and issued in 1983, the explosive 8-song set was the band's first with new drummer Nigel Glockler and features the singles "Power and the Glory" and "Nightmare." It climbed into the U.K. Top 20 and reached No. 1 in the metal charts in Sweden, Norway, France and Germany selling over 1.5 million copies worldwide in the process. Ushering in the second round of classic Saxon reissues, this 2009 remastered version is pressed on colored vinyl.
