Extreme metal supergroup Scour merges the talents of Pantera's Philip H. Anselmo, Pig Destroyer's John Jarvis, Cattle Decapitation's Derek Engemann, Animostity's Chase Fraser and Strong Intention's Jesse Schobel. It's an interesting combination to say the least and surprisingly their music sounds nothing like any of their respective bands. The group follows up their eponymous 2016 EP (aka The Grey EP) with six more blistering tracks in the form of the Red EP which was recorded at Anselmo's Nodferatu's Lair with Steve Berrigan and mixed and mastered by Dave Otero at Flatline Audio. Guitarist Derek Engemann says, "Scour returns with a vengeance with the title track, 'Red'. Blasting right out the gate, 'Red' steps up the intensity, while retaining that relentlessly haunting Scour sound." Adds bassist John Jarvis, "I think the track shows Phil's versatility, and perhaps some of his best screams in years; a total rip fest."
