Ten Bands One Cause Pink Vinyl Reissue Benefiting Gilda's Club NYC!
Ten Bands re-issue their albums on pink vinyl, all for one cause. This is the fifth year for the initiative that has raised over $200,000 for Gilda's Club NYC, an organization that provides community support for both those diagnosed with cancer and their caretakers. It is named after comedian Gilda Radner, who passed away from cancer at the age of 43 in 1989. 2018's pink vinyl reissues come from Silversun Pickups, Modest Mouse, Local Natives, Black Moth Super Rainbow, EL-P, Tyler Childers, Soccer Mommy, Daryl Hall & John Oates, The All-American Rejects and The Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack.
Silversun Pickups are among the most dynamic and creative rock bands of the post-millennial era, hailed far and wide for their inimitable merging of ethereal melodies and pure sonic force. Each successive release has seen the group venture into uncharted terrain, bravely pushing their imagination and ability towards new and surprising summits. Home to hit single "Panic Switch," Swoon (2009) is the group's sophomore effort and follow up to their critically acclaimed debut, Carnavas (2006). Dave Cooley once again handles production duties here. "Swoon was more blending, more angular, more fuzzy," says Brian Aubert. "The mood is bigger and heavier. Things got a little bit more grand. The emotion of that record is really hot."
