Konnichiwa is the universally lionized 2016 fourth full-length effort from Boy Better Know's own grime legend Skepta featuring Pharrell Williams alongside some of the biggest names in the U.K. grime scene including Jme, Novelist, Wiley and the full BBK crew. Peaking at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart, the Mercury Prize-winning release - which NME calls, "a landmark in British street music, a record good enough to take on the world without having to compromise one inch in the process" - is home to the Top 40 singles "That's Not Me", "Shutdown" and "Man." A veteran of the U.K. grime scene, MC, producer, and record label owner Skepta was influential in its shift from the underground to the pop charts, as well as its creative and commercial resurgence during the mid-2010s. Inspired by both U.S. and U.K. hip-hop, he started his music career appearing on the pirate radio circuit and performing at various MC battles. In 2005 he formed the grime label Boy Better Know with brother J.M.E. and Wiley.
