The story of Tankard is an exceptional one. The thrash metal force from Frankfurt, Germany known as the founders of "alcoholic metal" have been around since the early-80's spearheading a wave of German thrash bands that included Kreator, Destruction and Sodom. While a lot of their contemporaries struggled, split and reunited, Tankard kept scratching and clawing, delivering one strong album after another. To honor these pillars of metal Noise Records is reissuing three further classic Tankard albums - The Meaning of Life, Stone Cold Sober and The Tankard + Tankwart Aufgetankt - on remastered vinyl. 1990 saw Tankard unleash their fourth studio album The Meaning Of Life. With the new decade came a slightly different approach. It was still their trademark thrash but also interjected some melody and strayed lyrically from their beer soaked themes, but not too much so as to alienate their fanbase. This album is chock full of catchy choruses and buzzing riffs!
