Terrence Parker has established himself as a producer, remixer and DJ of the classic sound of Detroit House Music, and is known as the pioneer of the music genre known as "Inspirational House Music." As a DJ, Parker (known to many as "TP") has become legendary for his quite uncommon yet skillful turntablism style of playing House Music. TP has also become widely admired because he uses an actual telephone handset as headphones; causing some to give him the nick name, "Telephone Man." Others call him the "Telephone Man" because he has answered the call to bring us music to feed our souls!
Parker's new effort God Loves Detroit features collaborations with vocalist and producer Merachka and multi-talented vocalist, percussionist and songwriter Coco Street. "The concept of the album came first in 2013," explains Parker. "By this time the city of Detroit had just filled bankruptcy, making it the largest municipal bankruptcy debt filing in US history. The city was the subject of jokes on late night television, and ridiculed globally. I couldn't help but feel God loves Detroit and must be allowing this for a reason. As the city began to slowly turn around I too was inspired to create a collection of songs that would ultimately make up the album."
