New 2LP-set featuring Both the Mono & Stereo Editions of the 1967 Classic!
In terms of quality single releases with irresistible chart appeal and pure musical evolution, there is no doubt that 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Hollies breathed the same rarified air as the Fab Four. In fact from 1963 through to the mid-70's, the Hollies had more hits than the Beatles with 18 Top Tens in that period alone. The final Hollies album before Graham Nash would take flight and second of 1967, Butterfly finds the British quintet soaring to new heights. Recorded at Abbey Road studios the album features a dozen strong originals - including "Dear Eloise," "Postcard" and the title track - that occasionally venture into psychedelia. The adventurous arrangements are the perfect complement to the matchless harmonies of Nash, Allan Clarke and Tony Hicks. Along with its predecessor Evolution, Butterfly is being reissued on double vinyl in 2016 complete with both the stereo and mono editions of the album's original 12 tracks.
