Thompson Twins' founding member Tom Bailey unveils his debut solo album, Science Fiction. Bailey was the singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and, along with lyricist Alannah Currie, composed and arranged the group's music. Songs like "Hold Me Now," "Doctor Doctor," "You Take Me Up" and "Love On Your Side" became fixtures on radio and music television throughout the '80s while they also found success on the dance charts with the hits "Lies," "In the Name of Love" and "Hold Me Now." The last Thompson Twins show was in Texas in 1987 and the band finally broke up in 1993 - but Bailey has returned with outstanding pop music in the same vein. "I so much enjoyed playing concerts around the world over the last couple of years, that I began working behind the scenes on writing, recording and mixing the songs in this collection," explains Bailey. "As you know, I have concentrated on other areas of music for the past couple of decades – but I find it incredibly rewarding to be making pop music again. There's something so special about the way this kind of music works and, for me, it's like finding a long lost friend."
