Alan Parsons The Time Machine on Limited Edition Import 180g 2LP
After defining the art of the concept album as the engineer Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon and as the figurehead in the Alan Parsons Project, the multi-faceted musician/engineer/producer decided to pursue a solo career, feeling the need to bring his music to the live concert stage and to continue to record conceptual symphonic rock music. With his long-standing previous collaborators, guitarist Ian Bairnson, drummer Stuart Elliott and orchestral arranger Andrew Powell, Parsons delivered his first solo album Try Anything Once in 1994.
The partnership continued for On Air in 1996 and The Time Machine in 1999. Inspired by the H.G. Wells story of the same name, The Time Machine is built around the concept of time traveling and memory of the past and with its prog-rock and pop-rock touchstones, the album is right in the wheelhouse for fans of his famous former band. Includes guest vocals from Tony Hadley (of Spandau Ballet), Colin Blunstone (The Zombies), Máire Brennan (of Clannad) and Beverly Craven.
This vinyl edition of the album contains a locked groove, after which a bonus track will appear: The Dr. Evil edit of "The Time Machine" featuring the voice of Mike Myers from the second Austin Powers movie, The Spy Who Shagged Me, in which The Alan Parsons Project is referenced. The amazing looking artwork was also re-created for this release by none other than Peter Curzon of Storm Studios. This is the first vinyl issue of this essential Alan Parsons album!
