Amon Amarth has a long history with Metal Blade Records, that goes back to 1998 when they released their debut album, Once Sent From The Golden Hall. After almost twenty years later, it's now time for a vinyl re-issue of this album, as well as 1999′s The Avenger, as part of the Metal Blade "Originals-series." Both albums will be released on limited edition 180g vinyl with 400g heavy cardboard spine sleeves (inside out print), 60 x 60cm two-sided artwork posters and 250g inserts.
Deeply rooted in death metal with firm beliefs in Viking mythology, Amon Amarth formed in 1992 in Tumba, Sweden, a southern suburb of Stockholm. They began writing material with an abundance of melodies, harmonies and lyrics about Vikings and the northern gods. In March 1997 Amon Amarth entered Abyss Studios to record their Metal Blade debut Once Sent From The Golden Hall with Peter Tgtgren. The explosive results proved that they were destined to become a force of fury in the Swedish death metal scene and beyond.
