Belgian Vaults Volume Three - Various Artists on Limited Edition 180g LP + CD
Belgian label Starman Records specializes in re-releases of Belgian rock from the 60's, 70's and 80's. They have released four acclaimed volumes in the Belgian Vaults series so far, unique collections focusing entirely on the '60s and early-70s and compiling many very hard to find tracks, most released as singles on small, long forgotten labels.
Pop, beat, rock'n roll, psych...gems worth being re-discovered, the comps also offer restored and remastered sound quality. The amazing album cover shots are from the hand of the Belgian photographer Raoul Van den Boom, one of the very few who was there when it all happened.
With Volume Three, Starman takes us back to the late-60s and early-70s, a time when psych and heavy rock pushed aside the more traditional rock and roll influences. Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Cream, Led Zeppelin and many others affected the sound, songs and look of most Belgian bands. They've selected 13 tracks by as many as bands which deserve to be re-discovered. Another album to honor and preserve Belgium's musical heritage!
