Central Reservation is the sophomore studio masterpiece by acclaimed English singer-songwriter Beth Orton originally released in March of 1999 as the follow-up to her official 1996 debut Trailer Park. The revered album features contributions from folk musician Terry Callier, Dr. Robert and Ben Harper as well as production from Victor Van Vugt, Ben Watt and Mark Stent.
Central Reservation produced the two successful singles "Stolen Car" and the title track and climbed to the top 20 on the U.K. albums chart. The release was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize - the second nomination of her career - and also earned her an award for British Female Solo at the 2000 BRIT Awards.
"Listening back to the record now, I enjoy hearing the melodies and how I played with them and the words. The making of records is often a period of redemption for me and the recording of Central Reservation was the actualizing of all my most positive hopes and wishes." - Beth Orton
Central Reservation has been mastered for vinyl with the lacquers created at Metropolis Studios by Grammy Award winner Tim Young (The Clash, Queen, The Beach Boys, Beatles). Includes bonus track "Precious Maybe" not previously available on vinyl
