Beth Orton's official debut album, 1996's Trailer Park, is one of the most innovative and impressive records of the '90s. Produced by Andrew Weatherall, whom Orton selected based on his work on Primal Scream's Screamadelica, it is a beautifully inspired mix of folk and electronica, which may sound like a cliché today but this is the album responsible for that cliché. Absolutely cutting edge and with killer songwriting to boot, Trailer Park is a pop album like no other before it or since. Home to Orton's signature number "She Cries Your Name," the album yielded nominations for two BRIT Awards and the Mercury Music Prize in 1997. The 180g black vinyl version of Trailer Park has been out of print for three years, this colored 180g vinyl edition with deluxe tip-on jacket and printed inner sleeve will be Plain Recordings' final pressing of this title.
