Bob Dylan Slow Train Coming on Limited Edition 180g LP
Issued in 1979, Slow Train Coming served as Bob Dylan's first release after becoming a well documented born-again Christian at the tail end of the '70s. Helmed by R&B producers Jerry Wexler and Barry Beckett, the focused 9-track effort didn't shy away from tackling the music legend's newfound faith head on albeit with the songwriting precision of a master storyteller to set it far apart from the typical religious based release. Featuring fine support form Mark Knopfler, Tim Drummond and the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio horns, the album transcended its polarizing themes to enjoy both critical acclaim and commercial success. Lead single "Gotta Serve Somebody" became Dylan's first hit in years and even took home a Grammy award for Best Rock Vocal Performance in 1980.
