Chrome Hoof Chrome Black Gold on LP + Download
Formed in 2000 by Leo Smee, the long-serving bassist of Britain’s doom-metal heroes Cathedral, and currently featuring members of Guapo and Knifeworld, as well as Shingai Shoniwa, the front-woman of The Noisettes, Chrome Hoof combines Leo’s wide-ranging musical interests into a one-of-a-kind nitro-pop, electro-metal, synth-prog, sci-fi, space-disco, psyche-dalek spectacle!
Chrome Hoof has been releasing recordings since 2005, with a number of albums and EPs available on the Southern and Rise Above labels, but the band is at its best on stage live. Always a surprising, engaging, and over-the top live extravaganza, the group have played the Portishead curated All Tomorrow’s Parties (ATP) festival in 2011, opening for Portishead, Jarvis Cocker’s Meltdown festival in 2007, and the huge Glastonbury Festival in 2009.
Chrome Black Gold is the band’s first new release since 2010's Crush Depth. Chrome Hoof is sure to continue to win over new fans in 2013 with this entertaining and unusual album and their outrageous stage show. Recommended for fans of Hawkwind, Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft, Goblin, Parliament-Funkadelic, Zombi, Magma, Heldon and Led Zeppelin.
