Diana Ross Diana Ross on LP
As the lead singer of The Supremes, Diana Ross helped shape the sound of popular music, achieving the unprecedented feat of 12 number one singles, and making female singing group the most successful American act of all time. Ross, whose musical repertoire includes R&B, soul, pop, disco, and jazz, also earned six number one singles and 31 top ten hits as a solo artist, and she's sold more than 100 million albums to date.
Originally issued on Motown in 1976, Diana Ross' second self-titled album - not to be confused with her eponymous 1970 debut which was later re-released as Ain't No Mountain High Enough - yielded the two No. 1 hits "Theme from Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To)" and the disco anthem, "Love Hangover" plus the Top 25 charting "One Love in My Lifetime." Ross was nominated for a Grammy for "Love Hangover" and an Oscar for Best Song for "Theme from Mahogany."
In celebration of the 40 year anniversary of this classic UMe will be reissuing it back on vinyl for the first time in decades!
