Eek A Mouse Wa Do Dem on LP
Eek-A-Mouse (born Ripton Joseph Hylton) was one of the most unique talents to emerge from the Jamaican reggae scene in the 1980s. The Mouse's inimitable vocal flow combines an unconventional melodic approach filled with rhythm and humor. His unmistakable half-singing, half-deejaying (rapping) style inspired the term "singjay." Produced by Henry "Junjo" Lawes, mixed by Prince Jammy, Scientist and Barnabus, and featuring effervescent backing from The Roots Radics, 1982's Wa Do Dem captures Eek-A-Mouse in his digital reggae prime with the massive hit title cut plus further infectious tracks like "Ganja Smuggling" and "Operation Eradication."
