Etta James At Last!/Sings For Lovers on 180g Import 2LP
Two Original Albums Plus Bonus Tracks!
For over a half a century, Etta James all but defined the role of the quintessential rhythm & blues vocalist. She transcended all musical categories and styles with a recording career that spanned more than five decades. In 1993, Etta was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2001 she was inducted by both the Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame and the Rockabilly Hall Of Fame. Throughout her peerless career, James created a remarkably deep and diverse catalog of R&B, blues, soul, pop and jazz recordings and has been cited as a major influence by a wide range of artists.
Etta James' iconic debut, At Last! was originally released in 1961 on Chess subsidiary label, Argo. The album's title track "At Last" and "All I Could Do Was Cry" (co-written by future Motown mogul Berry Gordy) both went to #2 on the R&B charts, while the album itself has gone down in history as one of the great classic albums of early R&B. 1962's Sings For Lovers is the soul queen's fourth album, a stunning 10-track tribute to love and lovers featuring the indelible "Fool's Rush In." This handsome 180g 2LP-set from Vinyl Passion not only includes both of those landmark original albums but another 3 bonus tracks from The Second Time Around and 4 bonus tracks from Etta James to boot!
