Ian Gillan Double Trouble on 180g 2LP
The fifth album by the British rock band Gillan and third in 15 months was originally released in 1981 during the heyday of the NWOBHM. For many, including Ian Gillan himself, it is the definitive Gillan album consisting of some of the band's most effective songs and an overall consistency for which producer Steve Smith should take much of the credit. Double Trouble hit the UK charts at No. 12 and was the first album to feature new guitarist Janick Gers, since Berenie Torme had left the band. Faithful to the original release, one LP contains studio material including the singles "Restless" and "Nightmare" and the second features classic live recordings of many of Gillan's favorite tracks captured at the band's appearance at the Reading Festival in August of 1981. The vinyl reissue of Double Trouble comes in two different versions: this 180g 2LP-set and a limited edition 180g 45rpm double vinyl edition housed in an LP sized hardcase book.
