Judy Garland Judy At Carnegie Hall on 180g 2LP
Remastered on 180g Double Vinyl with Liner Notes by Terrance Mcnally!
Recorded live and complete at the famed Carnegie Hall on Sunday April 23, 1961, this historic concert appearance by Judy Garland has been called “the greatest night in show business history.” With an orchestra under the direction of Mort Lindsey, Garland - in incredible voice - reprises many of her most beloved songs like “Over the Rainbow,” “The Man That Got Away,” and "The Trolley Song," to go along with sterling interpretations of “Come Rain or Come Shine,” “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” and “How Long Has This Been Going On?”
Variety hailed that, “The tones are clear, the phrasing is meaningful and the vocal passion is catching. In fact, the audience couldn’t resist anything she did,” while The New York Post proclaimed, “Last night, the magnetism was circulating from the moment she stepped on stage.” Judy At Carnegie Hall went on to win four Grammy Awards including Album of the Year (beating out works by Nat King Cole and Henry Mancini), the first time a woman received the honor.
The live masterpiece, Judy At Carnegie Hall, is now remastered on 180 gram double vinyl with liner notes by Terrance McNally.
