Little Joy Little Joy on LP + Download
Brazilian/American supergroup Little Joy is Rodrigo Amarante (Los Hermanos), Fabrizio Moretti (The Strokes) and Binki Shapiro, three friends who dropped their routine in their respective hometowns to make a record in Los Angeles, California. Through a chance encounter at a Portuguese festival in Lisbon, where both Amarante and Moretti had performed, the two talked about working together on some music that had no affiliation to their particular bands. A year later, Amarante traveled to the United States to record with Devendra Banhart on his Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon. It was there that Amarante and Moretti were introduced to Shapiro through mutual acquaintances and soon after started writing original music as a band. They all moved into a house in Echo Park to demo songs and soon after, with the help of producer Noah Georgeson who had recorded Banhart's music, finished their self titled 2008 debut and lone album to date named after the bar on the corner.
